When I used to have 1 gigabyte of RAM, I often noticed that I had little memory left. This troubled me greatly, so I set off to find the biggest memory hogs. Right away I noticed that Apple’s own applications ate the most memory. However, one could argue that they need to, as they are very powerful programs. Please note that these averages, so others may have different results.
